Research

Before the event we arrange a research meeting with you. We learn about your industry, your company, the conference theme and gossip and funny stories about you and your guests. For example dress sense, the office flirt, nick names, who's always running late, holiday stories and who did something they'd would rather forget at last years conference! All this information is used in a very light-hearted way - we NEVER offend! The more information you give us, the more we will use!
Our writer will then create a personalised Murder Mystery script especially for your group.

The Murder Mystery Performance

During drinks, the guests meet a diverse and distinctive group of characters, all of which seem to have an amusing knowledge of you, your clients and your company!
At the start of dinner the detective arrives to announce that a grisly murder has just taken place in the vicinity.
The detective then has the awesome and often hilarious task of interrogating the main murder suspects, some of which may well be your very own fellow guests!
As the meal continues to be served, more MURDER and mayhem ensues.
The guests are then entertained with a surprise cabaret, which actually forms a vital part of the murder plot.
As the detective continues his questioning, a prominent member of your company staggers in to the room and drops down dead!
The detective, having carried out a quick autopsy on the latest murder victim, then solicits the help of the audience in a desperate last-ditch attempt to catch the killer before he or she strikes again.
Each table then becomes a crime squad and have to present their solution to the murder. This can be done in a number of challenging ways.
Prizes are awarded to the team that comes up with the most creative and entertaining solution.
Finally the Detective introduces the professional actors, all of which work on both stage and television.

The Performance

Before dinner your company will be welcomed by a series of characters, some of which seem to have an intimate knowledge of members of your staff. But someone else is in the bar. Someone you recognise. Are they there because of your company or is their presence the merest of coincidences?
During dinner a detective arrives to announce a MURDER!
The detective has the sad duty of questioning the usual suspects, your company members.
More MURDER and mayhem ensues.
Your guests are entertained with a surprise cabaret.
There is one final and futile death, that of - The Boss!
The detective solicits the help of the audience.
Each table becomes a crime squad and helps to find the murderer by presenting their solution as a limerick or a song. (Honestly! It's how The Met do it).
Prizes are awarded to the most creative and entertaining solution.
Your chosen celebrity and the As You Like It company of professional actors from stage, screen and television join you for a drink afterwards.

Kidnap Surprise Kidnap Horror

"A brand new product for 2006 from the writers of As You Like It Productions"

Kidnap Catastrophe is a great way of ensuring that your conference will have a real 'edge' and a fantastic air of excitement! From the moment your director is snatched from the lectern by our kidnappers, to the moment he or she is returned 90 minutes later, your conference delegates will have been challenged and stimulated into an urgent state of action! Can the delegates gather enough incriminating evidence in the time allowed? And just which of the delegates in the room do our two undercover agents think maybe behind the kidnap? All these questions must be answered, or the delegates may well find themselves in the middle of a kidnap catastrophe!

The Show

Kidnap Catastrophe

Is a high-impact show that works brilliantly when integrated into a conference agenda. It is a very effective way of energising conference delegates, reinvigorating them for more serious work sessions later in the day or simply ensuring that the day ends on a fantastic high!

The show begins when a senior manager from your company steps up to the lectern to begin his or her keynote speech. Suddenly, 2 kidnappers storm the stage and drag the manager out of the room, naming their hilarious demands for their victims’ release as they go.

A detective, who has been in a disguise, then steps forward and announces that all the delegates are going to have to help get the kidnap victim released, without giving into the kidnappers demands!

Evidence Clue Trail around the venue

The delegates are then divided into teams and are sent around the conference venue to gather any evidence that will help to identify who the kidnappers are and if they have been hired by one of your company’s rivals!

Actors interrogated!

When the delegates return from their ‘evidence gathering’, the detective then questions two actors, who within the scenario have been working undercover. They reveal whom they think amongst the delegates may have been behind the kidnap. This is a very amusing part of the show, as its content is entirely written around the company and its personnel.

Delegates present their solution to the kidnap

Having gathered the evidence and heard the information from the actors, the delegates, in their teams, have to then work out whom they think is behind the kidnapping and why. This can be presented in a number of entertaining and amusing ways…..

The Kidnapper is arrested

The event concludes with our Detective presenting his evidence and the two actors, (who have in the meantime mounted an SAS style rescue), bringing the kidnap victim back into the room and the mastermind behind the kidnap attempt, (who is actually from your company!), is then arrested.

Please note

Any issues about kidnapping in the present political climate are allayed by the fact that the kidnappers will have Mickey and Mini masks on and the info contained in the interrogations will be entirely written around the delegates making the event comical and great fun.

The success to this event, which lasts a total of 90 minutes, is that it entertains, stimulates and motivates delegates just at the point in the day that you really need to!
